The Office Master AF509 is the AF508 with a mesh headrest added, the top of the Affirm mesh range, and the model to specify when someone genuinely reclines during the day rather than sitting upright at a keyboard the whole time.
A headrest is worth having if the chair gets used for reading, calls, video meetings or thinking time, where people naturally lean back and the neck otherwise has nothing to rest against. If the user is heads-down at a screen all day and never reclines, the AF508 is the more sensible buy, a headrest they never touch is just cost.
Everything below the headrest is the same well-judged package: a tall "frameless" mesh back supporting through the shoulder blades, a wide 20.5" seat with an extra waterfall front edge, and the Simple Synchro mechanism with a weight tension knob.
The standard headrest is all-mesh. A Deluxe 3D Headrest (HRD) is available as an upgrade, three-way adjustable with two pivot points and a sliding upholstered pad, and the only headrest that can be combined with the optional coat rack.
Mesh is Nightfall Black as standard with Starlight Silver at no upcharge. Seat upholstery price shown is Grade 1; Grades 1 through 5 plus LG1-Evita leather, LG2-Lena and LG3-Volcano are all selectable above, and C.O.M. is available on request. Arms are chosen above: go armless, or add KR-25 height-adjustable arms (+$40.00) or KR-200 height- and width-adjustable T-arms (+$66.00). Office Master also builds more than 30 other armrest options across Groups AR, 1 and 4, up to 4D adjustable, ask us if you need one of those.
Not sure whether the headrest is worth it for your team? Talk to our team, we would rather steer you to the right model than the dearer one, and the consultation is free.
