The Chief Kontour K1C120 is a single-monitor desk mount built on Kontour's dynamic height-adjustable column. It is a specifier's arm: one model covers most of the monitors an office actually owns, which makes it the easy choice when you are fitting out a floor rather than a desk and want one part number on the order.

That comes down to the gas-spring range. The K1C carries a dynamic weight capacity of 5 to 25 lbs, wide enough to take a small secondary display and a large primary one on the same hardware, so you are not matching a different arm to every workstation. The column is the second half of it: the monitor interface is independent of the column, so a desk set up today as a single-monitor station can be expanded later to dual, triple, or quad without pulling out or re-drilling what is already installed.

Key features

  • Dynamic 5 to 25 lb weight range covers most office displays on one part number
  • Centris® Extreme Tilt for a wide angle range, including steep downward viewing
  • Independent column interface, expand from single to quad monitors without disturbing the existing installation
  • Three-step installation using the quick-connect monitor interface
  • Quick-connect head lets a display be mounted or removed without dismantling the arm
  • Effortless swivel, extension, and portrait-to-landscape rotation

Mounting and options

Finish. Choose black or silver above, at the same price. Silver tends to disappear against light worksurfaces and aluminum-framed benching; black reads cleaner against dark tops and bezels.

Desk mounting. The column base fits either a grommet or a clamp installation, so it works on a worksurface with an existing grommet hole and on one without. Confirm the thickness of your worksurface and the position of any modesty panel or cable tray before you order.

Growing later. Because the monitor interface and the column are separate parts, adding a second screen later means adding arm hardware rather than replacing the mount, worth knowing if you are standardizing a floor that may go dual in a year.
