Specifying a bariatric chair well comes down to four things, and only the first is the one people usually ask about. The weight rating matters, but a 600 lb rating on a seat that is too narrow is still the wrong chair, which is why Ginny is offered at 26" and 30" rather than as one compromise size, measure the space between the arms of whatever the chair is replacing before you choose. Cleanability is the point most often missed: Ginny uses a vertical clean-out seat, an open gap between the seat and the back so debris falls through and a cloth passes straight along the seat instead of stopping at a seam, which is what makes it serviceable in a healthcare setting. And the wall-saver rear legs angle back so the frame takes the knock against the wall rather than the backrest scuffing the paint, worth having anywhere the chair gets pushed back all day. Arms are part of the standard build and are not optional on this model; on a bariatric chair they are load-bearing, and people use them to stand up.

Ginny takes the full Office Master upholstery range, Grade 1 through Grade 6, plus LG1 Evita, LG2 Lena and LG3 Volcano leathers, and C.O.M. is accepted.
